About T9Glarn

Created by: Glarnware Games (Aka Tayten)

How it Works: This method uses the number pad digits (aka T9) paired with letters (A, B, C, and D) to uniquely encode each character making it both simple and fun to decode!

Origin Story: I came up with this encoding method while I was in the shower the night of June 1st, 2025. Sometimes the best ideas hit when you're not even trying!

What’s with the name? T9Glarn combines the classic phone keypad system known as T9 (used for texting on old phones) with "Glarn," the name of my dev team's mascot. It’s a fun way to bring together phone tech, and my own creative universe.

How to Use it: In T9Glarn, each number from 2 to 9 represents a group of letters. The number 2 stands for A, B, and C, so 2A = A, 2B = B, and 2C = C. The number 3 stands for D, E, and F, so 3A = D, 3B = E, and 3C = F. The letter after the number (A, B, C, or sometimes D) tells you which letter in the group to pick. A = first, B = second, C = third, and D = fourth, but only numbers 7 and 9 use D, because: 7 = P, Q, R, S and 9 = W, X, Y, Z. You’ll only ever use D if you're encoding a letter like S or Z that falls fourth in its group.

Challenge: Try decoding this by yourself, "4C'6A 5A8B7D8A 2A 7D4C5c5C9C 5c4c5c 4A8B9C."
